After a bit of a break from Twourism, we’re back on the blogging scene with a new-look website, some brand new content, and a greater commitment to giving you the best travel tips.
We know it’s been a while. We’re sorry. Some of the content here will now seem quite dated, but we’ll refresh it as we go along.
Why the break?
Well if we are being honest with ourselves, we launched Twourism at a bad time. We didn’t realise just how much effort a travel blog takes, and how little travelling you actually do when writing pieces for the blog.
We travel during our holidays, so we want to maximise our experiences, not get bogged down with writing. If we were making money out of this, then perhaps we’d rethink. but we’re not. We do this voluntarily.
Since Vietnam, we’ve travelled to so many other places too – alongside both of us working in our own jobs – that time simply ran out. In the past year, we’ve visited:
- Vietnam (the ENTIRE country)
- Thailand (Bangkok)
- Germany (Berlin, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Hannover, Cologne)
- Latvia (Riga)
- Poland (Krakow)
- Spain (Madrid)
- The United Kingdom (London, Newcastle, Hastings)
- Sweden (Stockholm)
- Nepal (Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan among others)
So as you can see, launching a travel blog during this manic period probably wasn’t the greatest idea. Couple this with changing jobs, and just enjoying life, and our enthusiasm ran out.
On the plus side, we have loooooooooads to write about. And the year is not even out yet – despite passport restrictions for one of us (Ash) due to a citizenship application, we’re still managing to revisit Hungary (Budapest) and Germany (Berlin).
From now on, we’re making it easier on ourselves. You’ll get a post each week – sometimes long, sometimes short – on a range of topics.
It might be tips for travel. It could be a picture gallery that requires no reading at all. Or it could be a full in-depth guide. Either way, you’ll get regular content each week that’s easy to digest and see the benefits of. If you don’t like what’s published that particular week, don’t read it. Sounds flippant, but it’s meant in the best possible way. We want you to read what’s important to you. We know your time is just as pressed as ours 🙂
There are two great ways to keep up to date with the schedule: social media and email.
Simply like us, follow us, tweet at us etc. by going to the social icons (on the right). There we will link you up to our latest posts, and refresh your memory with the occasional reminder of past content.
In the right sidebar, you can also sign up to our mailing list. That way you’ll never miss a thing. And with the scheduled regularity we’ve promised, you can just simply delete an email reminder if you don’t think the content inside appeals to you. We’re not spammers, all of your details are kept 100% private, and we certainly won’t endlessly send you stuff while claiming that it’s ‘marketing’.
So yes, we are back! We’d love for you to join our adventure.
